The wedding veil is an iconic bridal accessory, dating back to roman times. Veils have a wide variety of lengths. From short and sweet to long and dramatic! The veil will finish off any bridal look! We have seen our fair share of bridal looks and veils throughout the years. With over 50 years of seeing brides make their way into our ballroom, we always look forward to seeing what the lovely ladies will wear as their finishing piece to their bridal look!

Bird Cage Veil

This is the shortest veil length, usually worn just covering the eyes or extending down to the chin. They are super stylish and low hassle.

Shoulder - Length Veil

These beauties brush the shoulders and go down to the middle of the back. These are a bit more fashion forward, with a touch of tradition! These are a great option if you have detailing on your gown.

Elbow – Length Veil

This choice is elegant and easy to handle when combined with a blusher. Perfect with a fuller dress or ball gown! This would be perfect for a daytime affair.

Fingertip – Length Veil

The most popular veil by far! It flatters most brides and their dresses! ~ Think Kate Middleton

 Chapel- Length Veil

Here we have a real statement piece! This veil goes all the way to the floor, also called a sweep veil.

Cathedral-Length Veil

Here we have the grandest of them all!! They are perfectly suited for formal affairs, and they will be perfect heirloom piece to pass down!

Displaying photos at your wedding is a wonderful way to honor the past while celebrating your future, and it makes for great for great décor too! The best part, you can easily display your photos in DIY projects that fit your wedding theme! For instance, if you are having a rustic themed wedding, pin photos to twine. Going the vintage route, frame black and white photos of past generations. Want something off the beaten path? Wear your photos around your neck in a beautiful locket.

We have seen so many amazing photos series over the years at the Canoe Club Ballroom. We've seen photos used as décor, favors, escort cards and even floral arraignment enhancements. At the end of the day a photo series tells a story of your relationship and paints your guests a clearer picture of how you two met, fell in love, and got engaged! To inspire your photo displays we have found some awesome ways to display your photos!

Here at the Canoe Club Ballroom, we are lucky to be located in a beautiful natural setting, surrounded by fall foliage that is absolutely stunning! Fall might just be our favorite season, and there is a lot of reason why! The colorful leaves, the tasteful treats, and beautiful jewel toned florals that are just too pretty not to love! Even when the temperature drops we still offer outdoor ceremony’s, and amazing photo opportunities with the sun setting in the background! This time of year it’s all about incorporating dreamy accents like moody blooms, creative cocktails, and metallic details. Plan the perfect fall wedding with these cozy fall wedding ideas!

Pumpkin Aisle Markers

Line your aisle with a variety of different pumpkins, it’s a wonderful alternative to flowers and it’s perfect for the season.

Menus Accented with Leaves

A great way to add autumn foliage color, is to tie menus with ribbon to accent the colorful leaves.

Dusty Petals

This dusty pink bouquet full of moody blooms is simply stunning and perfect for a fall celebration!

Plaid Details

We love all things fall, especially plaid! Incorporate navy and white plaid napkins to your perfect wedding tablescape.

Though you’re bound to have beautiful photos during a fall wedding, your bridal party may get a bit chilly during those photos outdoors. So, think about plaid scarves that can double as bridesmaids gifts.

Wedding Date ~ September 1, 2017

Colors  ~ Navy & Pink

"I can't even truly describe how amazing our experience was with CCB for our September 1st wedding. Stacey and Jill are superheroes! From the very first time we met both these ladies their passion for this industry and to be there not only in a business sense but personal level was obvious. We could send an email with either 1 or 100 questions and we would get a reply to every single one. When our wedding day came I was relaxed, which doesn't happen, knowing that everything at the venue was being taken care of. Also, our last meeting before the big day we went through the whole set up and they wanted to know how everything should look and make sure we had all questions answered. Once arriving at the venue from the first look we were so happy to see not only Stacey and Jill but all of the CCB staff. Anything needed prior to the ceremony was taken care of and they did an amazing job making sure no guests saw us prior to the ceremony which was a request. The whole day flew by, but was absolutely what we pictured/wanted thanks to the CCB. Our guests are still talking about how amazing/gorgeous the venue was and how much fun they had.

I will strongly and highly recommend the CCB to anyone that will be looking for a wedding venue."

~ We would like to thank Nancy & Sean for sharring their speical day with us at the CCB! We are so happy to hear they had a wonderful experience! Best Wishes from all of us at the CCB!!

When it comes to your wedding, it’s usually best to avoid trends, after all your wedding photos last a lifetime. But, if you are a bride that LOVES to embrace trends then Millennial Pink is the answer! Contemporary, cool, and versatile we really love this new rendition of pink!

Millennial pink is less of a single color and more of a color spectrum, starting somewhere near ballerina-blush and ending closer to coral. We have seen many creative ways to incorporate this lovely trend here at the Canoe Club Ballroom. We have seen bridal gowns in blush, that sweep across the ballroom floor. Aisle décor of rose petals that drift from rose to bubble gum to salmon. All of these beautiful variations of the color are trending!

We have gathered up fabulous ideas that will leave you feeling pretty in millennial pink, all the way from your ceremony to your pink-splashed reception in our ballroom!

Your girls will love  these mix and match soft blush bridesmaid’s dresses for your wedding day!

Blooms in lovely creams and pink are perfect for your bridal bouquet.

Wow your guests with pink candles along with rose gold details, to make them really pop!

Exude romance on your wedding day by wearing a beautiful pink bridal gown!

Your groom can wear the signature color as well, have him wear a pink tie and add a hint of color into the boutonniere.

Don’t forget beautiful accessories to complete your perfectly pink look!!

Julianne & Jake

September 2, 2017

A lovely note from the Bride

"I'm not even sure where to begin to explain how happy I am to have chosen the Canoe Club Ballroom for my marriage. I knew from the moment I walked in that it was the perfect setting for me! Stacy, Jillian, Erica, Andrea, and everyone else involved during this process were so helpful, knowledgable, professional, and kind. Being a bride who was pretty clueless from the start as to how much planning and work is involved, I am forever grateful to the Canoe Club for making everything a whole lot easier as they have built great relationships with multiple vendors and are unbelievably organized. From the outdoor grounds utilized for our ceremony and the indoor reception area to the amazing food and photo booth, everything was perfect! If you are looking for the best venue to host the wedding of your dreams with a staff who truly knows what they're doing, the Canoe Club Ballroom is definitely for you! Thank you all so much :)"

"The Canoe Club Ballroom made our wedding day absolutely perfect! They are so organized, well prepared and professional. From the first day that we toured and met with one of the bridal assistants we knew that this was the place for us! At each meeting they made us feel relaxed and kept us organized. They are easy going but made sure to help us feel so prepared when the day came. Every family member and friend was impressed with not only the organization of our wedding day, but were blown away by the beautiful upkeep of the ceremony space and Ballroom.
